Imagine a world where technology, powered by the latest advances in science and behavioral psychology, serves as a force for good, enhancing our well-being and steering us toward a more harmonious existence. At Niremia Collective, our mission is to bring this vision to life by investing in startups that develop innovative mental health solutions, promote new ways of working, support healthy aging, and advance human-centric urban design
The modern workplace is a breeding ground for burnout. A staggering 70% of employees report work-related stress in the last month alone, with limited mental health and wellbeing support further exacerbating the issue.
Enter WellSet, a startup taking a stand against burnout. This digital wellness studio provides 24/7 holistic support through interactive daily classes. From hypnotherapy and acupressure to QiGong and breathwork, WellSet offers employees the tools they need to build mental resilience, reduce stress, and achieve work-life balance.
“It’s like Peloton but for holistic health,” says Tegan Bukowski, co-founder of WellSet.
Bukowski knows the power of holistic wellness firsthand. A personal health crisis led her to shift careers, diving deep into yoga and mindfulness practices. This experience fueled her passion to create WellSet, with the ultimate goal of putting these powerful tools "into a million people's hands."
Initially, the company aimed to connect users with local holistic practitioners. However, the pandemic forced a strategic pivot to live-streamed virtual sessions, like the highly successful Stay at Home Wellness Festival (attracting 45,000 participants!), which proved the model's scalability and reach.
Recognizing the cost barrier for one-on-one sessions, WellSet embraced group sessions, making their program more accessible and cost-effective. A critical turning point came with their integration with the insurance industry. Partnering with Blue Cross Blue Shield's 1501 Health incubator, WellSet secured coverage for their group sessions, allowing companies to offer unlimited access for as low as $0.75 per employee.
Today, WellSet works with 14 organizations, including leading school districts and industry giants like McGraw Hill. WellSet is poised to become the go-to holistic wellness solution for the enterprise market, offering much-needed alternatives to combat rising mental healthcare costs and limited support options.
Looking ahead, WellSet has ambitious plans to become the "first line of defense for crisis" for conditions like PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse recovery. Their vision is to develop a mobile app that bridges the gap between therapy sessions and daily self-care practices, providing continuous support 24/7.
“The mental health crisis is getting only bigger, and it's not being addressed completely by any of the existing programs that are out there,” says Bukowski. “Our goal is to be available 24/7, offering ongoing assistance even for those transitioning from outpatient mental health programs, who often lack support once they're back in the world.”
WellSet's unique approach and mission-driven strategy perfectly align with Niremia Collective's commitment to fostering scalable, impactful solutions that enhance well-being. We are thrilled to invest in WellSet and witness the positive transformation it will bring to the lives of millions of individuals and organizations.
